Painting Steps
Armor and Skin Basecoating
- • Apply Khorne Red to all major armor panels.
- • Paint the Ork's skin with Orruk Flesh .
- • Coat all mechanical guts, chains, and weapon frames with Iron Warriors .
Washing and Shading
- • Apply Agrax Earthshade liberally over the red armor and metallic parts to create depth and grime.
- • Use Biel-Tan Green over the skin areas to define the musculature.
Layering and Highlights
- • Highlight the center of armor panels with Mephiston Red to simulate faded paint.
- • Highlight the skin with Ogryn Camo on the knuckles, nose, and brow.
- • Edge highlight the sharpest metal parts with Leadbelcher .
Weathering and Rust
- • Drybrush Ryza Rust onto the metallic joints and recessed areas of the weapons.
- • Use a small sponge to dab Rhinox Hide (or a dark brown) onto the red armor edges to simulate chipped paint.
- • Apply Abaddon Black chips inside the brown chips to add depth to the weathering.
Muzzle Burn and Hazard Stripes
- • Paint hazard stripes using Averland Sunset and Abaddon Black on the claw and shoulder.
- • On the gun barrels, apply bands of Cassandora Yellow at the tip, followed by Druchii Violet , and finishing with Drakenhof Nightshade at the very end to simulate heat tempering.
Final Details
- • Paint the tusks and skulls with Rakarth Flesh , then highlight with Ushabti Bone .
- • Pick out the lenses and small lights with a bright green or blue to contrast the dark armor.
