Painting Steps
Face and Skin
- • Apply Bugman's Glow as the base layer for the face.
- • Wash the area with Reikland Fleshshade to define shadows around the eyes and mouth.
- • Layer Cadian Fleshtone over the raised areas (cheeks, nose, brow).
- • Add fine highlights with Kislev Flesh to the most prominent features.
Fatigues and Camouflage Pattern
- • Basecoat the trousers and sleeves with Zandri Dust .
- • Create the camouflage splotches by applying Militarum Green in irregular patches.
- • Add smaller, sharper dots and lines using Rhinox Hide over the transitions to simulate military camo.
- • Lightly apply Agrax Earthshade in the folds to add depth.
Flak Armor and Helmet
- • Paint all armor plates and the helmet with Castellan Green .
- • Shade the recesses and around rivets with Agrax Earthshade .
- • Edge highlight the plates with Straken Green .
- • For the eagle insignia, use Leadbelcher followed by a light Nuln Oil wash.
Weapons and Metallic Details
- • Paint the metal parts of the chainsword and bolt pistol with Leadbelcher .
- • To achieve the blue tint on the pistol casing, thin Thunderhawk Blue with a lot of water to create a glaze and apply multiple layers until the color is visible.
- • Apply Nuln Oil to all metallic surfaces.
- • Highlight the sharp edges of the chainsword teeth with Stormhost Silver .
Leather Accessories
- • Basecoat the belt, pouches, and cigar with Rhinox Hide .
- • Highlight the edges of the leather with Gorthor Brown to show wear.
Battle Damage and Rust Weathering
- • Apply Typhus Corrosion sparingly to the bottom of the greaves and the pistol muzzle for a gritty, greasy look.
- • Sponge or stipple Leadbelcher onto the armor edges to simulate paint chipping.
- • Apply Ryza Rust using a drybrushing technique over the recessed areas and chips on the armor and weapons.
Base and Skull
- • Apply Armageddon Dust to the base for texture.
- • Paint the skull with Ushabti Bone , wash with Agrax Earthshade , and highlight with Screaming Skull .
- • Drybrush the base texture with Screaming Skull to bring out the dirt grain.
