Painting Steps
Step 1: The Green Skin
- • Basecoat the skin with Orruk Flesh .
- • Apply a recess shade of Biel-Tan Green .
- • Highlight the prominent muscles with Elysian Green to define the Orc's powerful physique.
Step 2: Weathered Red Armor
- • Paint all armor panels with Mephiston Red .
- • Wash the entire surface with Agrax Earthshade for a dirty, oily look.
- • Edge highlight with Evil Sunz Scarlet .
- • Dab Ryza Rust onto the edges and deep recesses to simulate corrosion.
Step 3: Metal and Heat Effects
- • Base all mechanical parts with Leadbelcher and wash with Nuln Oil .
- • Drybrush the edges with Stormhost Silver .
- • Apply Druchii Violet and then Drakenhof Nightshade in rings around the leg joints and exhaust pipes to mimic heat-stained metal.
Step 4: Weapon and Fabric
- • Base the wood and weapon shaft with Dryad Bark .
- • Layer the bandages with Zandri Dust .
- • Highlight the wood grain and bandages with Baneblade Brown .
Step 5: Basing and OSL Glow
- • Paint the base with Mechanicus Standard Grey .
- • Use Fuegan Orange in the recesses of the floor panels.
- • Lightly drybrush Troll Slayer Orange onto the bottom of the machine's legs and the lower jaw of the squig-bike to create an Object Source Lighting effect from the orange floor.
